As part of the environmental week, the visit center “Secret World of Alatau”, located in the Central Institution of the National Park, hosted an event dedicated to the protection and conservation of a rare animal “Let’s save the snow leopard!” with the participation of students of secondary schools No. 182 and gymnasium No. 188, organized by environmental educators.
During the event, students competed in two groups: “Bolashak” and “Snow Leopard”. The competition included educational excursions, answers to mosaic questions, proverbs and sayings about nature conservation, drawing, and a word-for-word quiz. T. Zhaparkulov, a specialist in the Research Department, showed how a photo trap is installed and told about snow leopards trapped in a photo trap. The students showed interest, actively participated in the performance of all assigned tasks, and showed their skills. According to the decision of the jury, the knowledge of the participants was evaluated as the tasks were completed, the Snow Leopard group took the Grand Prix, and the Bolashak group took the first place.
