Recreational and tourist activity
The unique combination of mountain spruce and wild fruit forests with steppe ecosystems of the southern slopes provides not only a high aesthetic value of the landscapes, but also a rich recreational potential of the National Park.
Mountains, forests and lakes all together act as a climatic barrier. The sharply continental climate of Northern Tien Shan is significantly moderated in the mountain gorges. A valuable resource of the area is spruce forests that, unlike other conifer and hardwood species, possess a highly Phytoncidic activity. Hydro mineral springs have a healthy effect on people’s health.
The development of eco-tourism is one of the priority activities of the Ile-Alatau National Park to be carried out as regulated tourism and recreational activities both by the Park itself, and tour operators, public organizations on the basis of cooperation agreements.
